Vintage Angels & Fairies (2)

Well, I hope your weekend went well. Its becoming colder here in the mornings, a touch of frost.....Brrr, and this evening is the first time we have lit the wood-burner this side of the summer.

All good things come to an end, such as the Summer, but luckily for you, the Angel and Fairy images have just begun. If you are becoming chilly where you live then, I hope these images will warm your heart at least.

See you all tomorrow
Thank you for visiting as ever.

Dyeing, Blackberry way....

There has been a glut of blackberries in the garden. We have already made about 12 jars of jam and there must be about 5kgs of them in the freezer. And still they keep coming. Earlier this year I acquired some fabrics whose texture appealed to me so I had my first go at dyeing pieces of them.....with Blackberries.

They did not turn out as purple as I had hoped, and at first I felt quite disappointed. But having looked at them since I do rather like the colour. I'd describe it as a light fuchsia. I am now thinking of attempting to use Tumeric as a dye. However, I now know that Blackberries are good for creating various pinks and are good for staining saucepans!
In future, I'd like to make more fabric cards or fabric art. I have ordered some fabric manipulation books from Amazon to get me started, and I cannot wait for them to arrive.
Today, at a car boot/yard sale, I bought 3 rolls of cotton/gauze like fabric in natural colours for a ridiculously cheap price, so I have plenty of fabrics to play around with now.

More Angel and fairy images to come later today.

Vintage Angels & Fairies

You are just going to adore some of these images I have for you. There are not just Angels and fairies but cherubs and elves too. I'm not uploading them in any particular order, just as they come on the CD.

Hope you are all having a fab weekend.....

Freebies: Vintage Animals

Hello and welcome to today's animal images which are the very last ones. These happen to be 'odd' ones that did not fit into any particular categories.
I'll begin to share the Vintage Angels and fairies images tomorrow.

Have a great weekend what ever you have planned.

Pillow Envelope

As promised here's the photos of the pillow shaped envelope I made to accommodate the Curved window card which I showed you yesterday. I don't know if it is really called a pillow shape, that's what I have called it.

I made the flowers from fabrics and made the leaves from the same paper as the envelope which, is as usual, good old wallpaper!

The rest of the decoration is based on the fact that it is for a Wedding anniversary.

Freebies: Vintage Animals Monkeys

Bonjour everyone,
I finally got the envelope finished for the Curved Window card (see yesterdays post) and have posted/shipped it off. I shall upload photos of the 'pillow' shaped envelope I made for it later.

For now, here for your pleasure and delight are Vinatge Monkey images.
Tomorrow I shall be sharing with you the remainder of the animal images I have which I could not categorize.  After those, I can make a start on the Vintage Angels, Fairies and Elf images, which I am sure will prove to be far more popular.

Enjoy the rest of your day

Curved Window Card

I fancied having a crack at making a curved window card. I didn't do a fancy shaped window, or even frame it, I just thought I'd keep it straight for simplicity....maybe another time be a bit more adventurous.

I did have to reinforce the inside with some thick plastic, which cannot be seen with ordinary viewing of the card, but can be seen here because of the angle of the photos. I could of covered them in paper but then that would have blocked out the light.

I made the cherub from air drying clay in a silicone mould. Sentiments created in Photoshop, printed onto textured watercolour paper. The same for the photograph inset into the clock, but on ordinary paper. I butchered up some silk flowers for the card. I did make my own, but they are on the 'pillow shaped' envelope, which I will photograph tomorrow.

I think thats about all I can tell you about this card really, the photographs speak for themselves. The 'technical' bit was creating the envelope, designed so it curves out.....you'll see it tomorrow...I hope.

Thank you for looking.

Freebies: Vintage Animals Elephants

Hello again,
I am going to upload the latest card I have made later on, so I thought I'd share these Vintage Elephants this afternoon.
See you later!

Freebies: Vintage Animals Bears Part 2

Hi, how's your day been?
I took my other half to the hospital today to have a large Cyst removed from his back, under general anaesthetic. We were only there for the morning which was pretty good going I thought.
Anyway, I couldn't wait to get home because I was in the last throes of making a Bowed Window card and an envelope shaped to accommodate the 'bow'. While my partner was 'under' I was planning it all in my mind.
Photos to come tomorrow...and yes my idea did work out in the end, thankfully.

These are the last of the Bears. Tomorrow Its going to be Elephants. After that Monkeys, then that's almost all of the animal images I have, apart from some 'odds'.
See you tomorrow I hope, and thank you again for coming to my corner of Blog~world.
